so true ! i dont hear the radio ads as much this year . seems like last year you heard them every if not every other commercial break . plus there's alot of 1 o'clock saturday games this year . i think thats goin to hurt attendance big time this year . the few afternoon games they had last year didnt seem to have the same crowd as saturday night games . guess we'll have to wait and see . hopefully i'm wrong !
just below the top ten, could still bring that up a bit but the team needs to start winning, alot of people probably got scared off after the home opener but even that looked a little thin, could still use the economy excuse as well. if the team starts winning, i think there might be a turnaround. personally i don't care for issue 3 if it passes or not but maybe a little less on that and more on the monsters.

There's the comparison chart. This past weekend, LEM had a Friday and Saturday night stand. Both games had well below league average attendance.
We went to Tuesday's game. VERY FEW STH that I recognized. The lounge was EMPTY. You can't treat business people the way they treat business people and keep a product on the ice. You have your regular season ticket holders who love hockey and you have CORPORATE SEASON TICKET HOLDERS who expect to be handled correctly when the opportunity to pass business back arises. This organization does not (Hence, 500 less season ticket holders this year than last). This team needs to clean house and make BUSINESS DECISIONS not knee **** decisions. They need to BRING BACK LEONARD on the PA. There's something to be said about EXCITEMENT. You get Olivier trying to pump up the crowd and then MR NON-EXCITEMENT on the PA. They've lost the momentum and shot themselves in the foot. I don't see this coming back unless they make it AFFORDABLE to the average joe to bring a family. They need $1 dogs EVERY NIGHT if they are going to charge $20 a seat. I'd rather get 4000 people at $10 a seat than 2000 people at $20 a seat. The concession and parking will make up the rest. OVERPRICED for what they are. Not in this economy and not in this city. Wish it was a hockey town but it isn't.

KJ, what's the lounge you're talking about? Do STH have access to something special? This is my second season as an STH and I don't recall hearing anything about a lounge
I was at the home opener and Saturday's game. I also felt the attendance was low. One thing fans can do is introduce new people to the Monsters. I had 22 people in my group for the opener and everyone is coming back for more games. I am a single mother and for me this is inexpensive entertainment, (compared to the Cavs and Indians). It is a GREAT family atmosphere. Maybe if the powers to be read these comments, they will begin to advertise more. I can't wait for the October 30th game!!
I've had the opportunity to attend away games at 8 other AHL arenas in the past 2 seasons. I'm no expert but our PA guy is as good or better than any I heard at these other venues. He can only say so much...can't be yelling while puck in play etc. Like the other night when they had a video skit with a whistle that confused the bejesus out of everyone on the ice. Not defending him and I'm sure we could do better but compared to the 8 sites i've been to he's holding his on as far as excitement and delivering the information.

Terrible at best. The old PA guy was great and got the fans into it just with his inflection. When someone scores, you don't know if its the Monsters or the Visitors, SAME LEVEL OF NO INFLECTION and dropping everything at the end. The Indians only allow him to announce NAMES but sucks the life out of that crowd too. He's not good and bad things follow the guy, CAN HIM AND BRING BACK LEONARD.....
Say it with me folks... 'MONSTERS......... ON THE POWERPLAY!'

Kevin, $15 additional per seat gets you food, booze and desserts. Great atmosphere and great service. (Plus, your beer glass is FULL and is included) You got to buy the whole season. We went down the other night just to visit the staff. NO ONE WAS IN THERE, tells me the Corporates are WAY DOWN.

I've decided to go to games where I want to see the dev. team of certain NHL affiliates. I like the canucks and red wings, so the griffins and moose will draw me to the Q. I'll probably check out Hamilton as well since I mildly like the habs.
I've given the monsters plenty of chances, but they're just not worth watching (especially at these prices). Gilbert blew it when he signed with the Avs.

Oh, what a shame, I've only got a half-season package I'm only 18 anyway, but I couldn't complain about the food and desserts
want to get fans in the stands, advertise the s**t out of this team, make tickets a little more affordable and the most important factor WIN!!! a good winning team will bring more people down.

Look, we are still way up there in the league in the attenance department. Plus, WE'VE WON THREE IN A ROW! If we keep playing with streaks like this, and take hold of a playoff position (Top 4 in the North Division) the fans will come. Everyone in Cleveland wants a championship team. If we keep playing like this (espcially the first line) we will be the championship. I finally bought partial season tickets this season so they gained three more season ticket holders. I think that the Monsters are making good progress.

I think the Monsters could do sevral things to get people in the arena
1. Lower the prices. I atteded the Manitoba game with my son and spent $26.00 per seat, $52.00 is a lot of money to spend, and that cost keeps alot of people away. Everyone knows the real revenue comes from consession sales. Lower prices results in higher attendance and higher consession sales.
2. Market season tickets as 2 for 1. The old Cleveland Force used to do this. I bet a lot more season tickets could be sold with a deal like that.
3. Offer free vouchers to youth hockey orgaizations and honor one or two programs per game (e.g. Euclid Hockey Night, Mentor Hockey Night). By offering vouchers to the kids for "their night", the parents would feel obligated to buy tickets (for themselves) in order to attend with their kids. Each organization could have a meet and greet with the team, and be recognized on the jumbotron. With local youth hockey having many participants in the greater Cleveland area, this is a great way to promote the team as well as the sport.

Hey Tony, if you want 2 for 1 on the tickets swing over to KFC and buy any menu item, keep the receipt then take it to the Q box office. Once there you can get any priced monsters ticket for buy 1 get 1 free.

I kind of get what GOALIEDAD is saying. The Monsters are very active in the community. I guess that by being so active with the community we can bring more people to the games.
