Peter Budaj has the flu, so Tyler Weiman was called up to the Avs to serve as Craig Anderson's back-up. It's a short call-up, I would assume, but I wonder what happens if Budaj (when he finally does get a chance to play) continues to struggle like he did in the preseason. Will the Avs give Tyler his shot then? And who's going to serve as Cann's back-up this weekend?
It'll be short. I don't expect to see Weiman up there much this season unless the goalies get injured. I think they'll play Budaj even if he struggles.

no matter how short this call up is, it is weims chance to show the av's and sacco that he is ready, so if they give him the shot i think he will be up to it but knowing colorado they might just dress him and not even use him.

God, I hope that this call-up for Weiman is a short one. I am not impressed with Trevor Cann especially considering he has given up 4 goals on a couple of occasions. Hopefully, Budaj is better by the weekend so that Weiman can come down here and at least give us a fighting chance at winning a hockey game. Except for the shutout against Texas, that seems to be something that Trevor Cann cannot do!

Hopefully Sacco will keep Budaj away from his teammates. If the Avalanche start catching swine flu left and right, that could spell disaster for their season and ours. If the Avs all have the swine flu, we will be playing call-ups gallor, just like we did last year!

Sounds like they caught it early and were able to keep him away from the rest of the team, luckily. Also, according to Dater's Twitter, Anderson is starting tonight and Budaj is supposed to join the team in San Jose on Friday. Very bummed that Weiman did not get a chance to start.
Anderson is largely the reason for the Avs success. I think they'll ride that wagon until the wheels fall off. It would be nice to see Tyler get a start and Anderson get a rest.
