FINALLY! Someone sang the Canadian anthem right. May we please have this woman sing more often so that we no longer embarrass ourselves with an entire other country?
they may have gotten the anthem right but the f'n boy scouts didnt get the flags right, they had the canadian flag tipped and the american flag standing tall while the canadian anthem was going on.

Totally agree, she aced it. I always cringe during the first few notes of "O Canada," assuming the singer is going to screw it up.
Yes, thank goodness for the Canadian anthem finally being done decent. It continues to amaze me that in a metro are with the following music schools we cannot reach out to get better anthem singers:
Cleveland Institute of Music Oberlin Conservatory Case Western school of music Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory Cleveland State University department of music Kent State School of music
Not to mention that we have Opera Cleveland singers and chorus members living locally, some of which performed at the Browns game recently. There is absolutely no reason to continue to embarrass our town or team or players further by continuing the Teenage Star search version of Anthem Idol.
I could be wrong about this, but I don't think the Cavs/Monsters actually do much to encourage students from those schools to audition for anthem slots. It's just a general call for singers, and the people that show up are the talent pool from which they choose, regardless of how much real talent they possess!

She did an excellent job. Hanson you obviously need a lesson in customs and courtesies. Another countries flag shall Never fly higher than the U.S. Flag while in this country.

100% correct, hansons!
And there is no more friendly foreign nation than Canada.
By the way, I love the old Cleveland Barons logo.

It seems the Boy Scouts need some instruction on presenting colors. The Canadian flag should have been on the left side of the American flag and not dipped but equal to the American flag. See this website for flag rules : www.usflag.org/uscode
i know all about flag etiquette from being in the military for 15 years, and i wasn't trying to disprove you. and i dont really know why you reply with sarcastic respones like "class dismissed, you can go home now" is it really necessary?

I heard that too. Most players, including most Monsters' players, are from Canada. Idiots.

I just looked at our roster, as of right now 50% are Canadian. Regardless though of who is or is not Canadian, it is just stupid and lacks any class. I think it was last season when there were similar chants against one of the Canadian teams. People need to grow up and/or lay off the booze.

I agree totally. It's embarrassing to me and to Cleveland when the singer screws up O Canada. Where do they find these people?
i heard that moron as well, you're always going to have that one bonehead to do something or say something stupid. i find it VERY disrespectful to disgrace a country that is our ally. i also find it VERY disrespectful when they can't find someone to sing the anthems right, canadian and american.

As far as the flags go, Frankburger, I couldn't get your link so I'm not sure what it said. Having been in the military and currently on the fire dept. honor guard, I can say nothing goes to the right of the U.S. flag (except the guard of course); nothing goes higher as well. Other national flags can be equal in height I believe but not higher or to the right. No national ensign gets dipped, period. Even during our anthem any other ensign stays vertical as well, it's disrespectful and against protocol to dip any national flag, especially ours.

Sorry, forgot a number at the end. WWW.usflag.org/uscode36.html And the colors at sea are only dipped to Merchant ships after they have dipped theirs to our warships. colors are NEVER dipped to other warships of any nation.

I posted this last year on Monsters forum, Two years ago Indians game at Prog Field playing The Blue Jays, Indians had a rare offensive explosion beating Toronto 12-0. Some Canadian Jays fans were sitting below us. Well this idiot sitting three seats away from us in same row kept yelling "That's how Americans play baseball!" I don't who I felt more sorry and embarrassed for. Most of Major League rosters have players from Latin America origin including the Indians. So I guess technically he's right. What a fool!
