Does anybody know about next years promotions schedule? What are you guys most hoping for next year? I myself enjoy the bobblehead giveaways. The Barons (from a few years ago), gave out a lot of bobbleheads. I think i have 7 bobbleheads from the few seasons they were here. Also, does anybody know about a team hockey card set? I would really like to purchase one next season.

AS LONG AS THERE IS NO CLAUDE THE MORONIC TRUMPETER Puck Night would be great... How about $1. beer night??? (Don't laugh, next year they are looking at cheap beer night) They have had pretty good promotions, the Fish Fry was a FLOP as it was something through the radio and I don't listen to MMS anymore... I am still waiting on my STH Pin... Now, that's a problem...

I liked Claude from the Jacks days.. but its lost its luster I guess.. Wish they would bring back the hot dog dropping blimp the Jacks had. That was pretty cool! I would like to see a "legends" night and have some former NHL'ers here for some autograghs or something.. I still have my puck from Gordie Howe when he came here..
Yeah, seeing a team who ISN'T worst in the entire league on home ice (granted, Lowell has a lower winning percentage, but still more wins as of right now) trumps all promotions in my opinion.
hockey doesnt go by how many wins you have the go by the point system, we may have less wins than lowell but we have more overtime losses/wins and shootout losses/wins which gives you an additional point. as for the promotions, i would like to see some bobblehead dolls, t-shirt giveaways the hat giveaway this year they shoulda had more but oh well. i'll tell you one thing when there is a free promotion the people come out of the woodworks for that stuff.

The Monsters are 12-24 on home ice. Plain and simple. The casual fans they are trying to win over by, well, WINNING, don't give a rat's behind whether they lose in overtime or in regulation. I don't think anyone feels better after an OT loss anyway because the team "at least got a point." Anyway, the Monsters' 31 points is still tied for lowest.
Obviously those extra points matter (although not really for us since we're way out of contention), but I think everyone wants to see wins. And of course that's the best way to attract fans in Cleveland.
On a side note, I wish hockey would adopt the three points for a regulation win, two points for an overtime win, and one point for an overtime loss that is sometimes talked about in the media. Teams would work harder in the final few minutes instead of playing for overtime.
The last game is jerseys off there backs. Does anyone know how that works? Do they throw them into the crowd or is it something more organized?
Usually the front office picks from among the season ticket holders and they go on the ice after the game where the players take off their jersys and hand them to the individual selected.
And ties and shoot out losses do not win championships. I would like to see no points awarded for ties and ot losses. only give points for wins then you know hopw good a team really is.

I would love to see more about the Monster promotions and all, I didn't even know about the season tickets until I attended one of their home games...what give marketing department?!?!?!?!!? You need to advertise OTHER than at the arena or during games to pull people in...or am I thinking to logically?

every point counts, even ties, wins of course are better and i want these guys to win but if we can get at least a point out of it then i'm happy. now, i would like to see the nhl and ahl go back to the overtime period where @ the end of the period if noone scores then they both get a point and the game is over (exluding playoffs), drop the shootout, i know they want to make it more exciting that is why they have the shootout (plus the ahl had the shootout way before the nhl adopted it) but to me i just dont like it and they're also talking about shortening up the goaltender equipment yet again, if they do that we're screwed.

Wow hansons, shortening up the goaltender equipment again? The biggest trend in sports now is high scores. One of the appeals of hockey is how tough it is to score. Thats why they celebrate so much after a goal, same with soccer, they worked for it.

Getting back to the original question... Since we have had a chance to see the players and get to know them this season, I would like to see more player oriented promo's.

Team Set Trading Cards Player Bobbleheads More post game team autograph sessions (off ice)
I like the Browns and Cavs players signing autographs... Maybe they can get a couple Tribe players next season?
I think the best giveaway this season was the FLEECE BLANKET ! That thing is so nice and warm !
I also think they need to carve out a definite space in the "team shop". They sell different stuff during the games at the souvenir stands than what they have in the team shop... I don't understand that.

hopefully next season we will see some bobble heads and as far as autographs i would like to see some old tyme nhl'ers like gordie howe and others for autographs. it was good to have some of the browns players and cavs players to come down and sign autographs but that doesnt bring out the hockey crowd, but it does give some people that haven't experienced hockey to experience the game and to see what its about, and if we could get crowds like we had for the last two games for this team that would be amazing and would prove that hockey is back and here to stay. well the team shop is mainly for the cavs there is one corner for the monsters and i think they should make a permanent monsters team shop, instead of sharing with the cavs so they can have more stock and better selection. i know that the barons are no more but maybe they could make some bobble head dolls of the old tymer barons and use those as promotions. they do that in toronto, they have doug gilmour bobble head dolls and other maple leaf greats. a trading card set would be nice, maybe a monsters calendar, who knows the sky's the limit on promotions.

for giveaways, the blanket was a home run. that was way better than the hats or mullet wig, although the hats (both kinds) certainly had people coming through the door.
for team shop, i'd suggest the monsters check out the other AHL team shops. ours isn't the best, but it isn't the worst. the manitoba store has lots of awesomeness.
for celebs - i agree!! get gordie howe back in cleveland, or for that matter any of the old timers (sadly, even the guys I grew up watching could now count as old timers as they're getting inducted in toronto). i don't think i've ever seen yzerman or gretzky in person (although gretzky is still kind of busy during hockey season).
