I just attended my first Columbus home game and i must say it was the most uncomfortable event ive ever attended. Wow who were those seats made for? Im sure the seats at the local Anorexia/Bulimia support chapter are more spacious. Im a big guy but not exceptionally so nor am i that wide ( 6-3, 225). The Q is so much more comfortable. Anyone else been there and agree?

are you sure it was the seats and not just the blue jackets' playing? Wink

I haven't been there, but next season will likely go to catch a game or two. I was supposed to catch a game this year, but the real world got in the way and I had to miss the game.

Joe Lewis arena is only about 4.5 hours away, is comfortable and sends out a quality product night after night. The Penguins play 2-3 hours away, but even they're not too happy with their arena. It would be interesting to compare Col. and Pbgh's arenas though.

Ive been to both. The Joe is nice but I found the Igloo to be sort of a dump. Im going to MSG next year for a Rangers/Devils game. Im a little excited.

Kind of funny you bring that up. I weigh about the same as you, but a couple inches taller. While I really do like Nationwide as a whole, the seats are a bit cramped for people like you and me. I luck out a bit because usually when I go, it's through a family members tickets, and while there are 4 seats, we mostly use just the two when we go. Provides a little added comfort. Plus, one seat is on the end.

The seats at the Schott have a little more room I think. Still, those places are just built with the "average" fan in mind I guess. Smiler

I am 6'6" and weigh 325. I love my seats at the Q. One of the reasons I love the club level, little wider seat. ALTHOUGH, the Q used to have wider seats all around, they went from a 19" seat to a 17" seat when Gilbert bought the team and arena to get a few more seats in there. Guess it paid off bigtime last year..

I used to be a season ticket holder with the blue jackets and I had a blast. I can agree though the seats do suck. My knees were squashed with no room to move, and the aisle ways in the rows suck, but that is all the negativity I will say. I still love going to games down there, but trying to make it to 41 home games as a blue jacket season ticket holder did get quite tiring and not too mention expensive. I think I spent about $3000 between gas to and from the game, parking, food, something to drink and my tickets and psl. So, all in all it is wonderful place to watch a hockey game, but does have a few minor flaws.

yeah the seating there sucks and i dont like how its set up. the q (gund) is set up beautifully for hockey, there isnt a bad seat in the house unless you're behing the benches. the old maple leaf gardens was a beautiful places to watch hockey, i loved going up there and watching the games.
i've only been to a couple of blue jackets games, since i live up here in clevo and the team is in columbus. i think when they come up with the design of an arena they consider who is going to go and gives just a little more room for comfort.
