Hamilton Game, not the Syracuse Game. Amazing that he can get provoked and the AHL does NOTHING.

I like Purinton. Granted he doesn't need to beat up the whole team, but I like that the opposing team fears having to face that guy on the ice. It's not like the guy has ever maimed anyone. And I'm sure the Avs/Monsters signed him for a reason. They knew his record. Sometimes you need a guy on the ice that can "soften" up the opposing team so your finesse players can get some relief. It's funny how everyone likes Love, because he gets into a fight almost every other game, but Purinton does it and everybody hates him. Maybe it's because he's big and tends to whoop ***, I dunno. I certainly don't want a team full of guys afraid to hit players. If I wanted that I'd watch baseball.

my bad, sometimes i cant read. i dont know what happened in the hamilton game so i wont say anything about that, but purinton is a good player (does goon it up a bit) but lately has shown some restraint and played some good hockey. we do need a guy like purinton, and to yaldain how are we better off without the guy, who is going to play defense. he has regular shifts now, not just whenever sacco wants to put him in to rough up people, not unlike the syracuse player who doesn't have regular shifts and is only used in certain situations, so to you i say we do NEED him.

Nice comment coming from someone who roots for the biggest cheapshot team of them all, The Hamilton Bulldogs. I'm sure you are probably one of those degenerate bulldog fans who still sticks up for that criminal Perezohogin.

I love how all the Hamilton fans I encounter throw around the cheap shot label like it's candy at parade, but look past their own Benoit Gratton, who I still consider one of the biggest cheap shot players I've ever seen play the game.
Of course to Bulldogs fans, everyone in that situation was wrong except for them - the league who suspended Perezhogin 80+ games; the authories who charged Perezhogin with assualt causing bodily harm and gave him a year probation, ordered him to pay medical expenses, and donate to charity; the ref who let it happen (wasn't Perezhogin's fault of course, it's the referee's as usual); Stafford who took an initial slash (evidently that justifies a two-handed chop to to the face that sent a man into convulsions on the ice - good thing no one else shares that view, or hockey would be pretty messy); the couple Cleveland Barons who jumped Perezhogin after the incident (as if a group of Bulldogs wouldn't maul a Baron if the situation were reversed).
Everyone was wrong except Perezhogin. The funny thing is, if things were flipflopped, everyone but them would STILL be wrong.
And just looking at the comments under that video, I'd sure like know on what other occasion Stafford has been suspended. I sure can't remember or find any others, and evidently there's five more I'm missing.

how can you say that!, yeah stafford took a swing @ perezhogin but missed and if perezhogin is such a good hockey player why then, did he whip his stick around and club stafford in the face. that was not called for, if perezhogin is such a professional that shoulda never happened. yes the officials shoulda called the initial call but they didnt. now i wasnt at the game but from what i saw that should have never happend and these players are supposed to be professional on and off the ice and that to me was no sign of being professional. no one here is denying that purinton is a goon, i have seen some of his earlier fights and agree he is, but at least he doesnt take his stick and use it like a tomahawk. so stafford didnt deserve that, thank you. stafford is a goon and from what i heard was taunting perezhogin all night but that doesnt give him the right to do what he did. that made the mcsorley-brashear incident look like child's play.
