Now that the Cavs Schedule has been released today and The Monsters (AHL) Schedule due out tommorow I did some research.
After reviewing the Cavs schedule and also the current Quicken Loans Arena Schedule I found that there are 53 weekend days still available at The Q after The Monsters Opener on Saturday Night Oct 11, 2008.
47 of these dates DO NOT conflict with any Browns Home/Road games. This also doesn't count potential double header Saturdays with the Cavs, that would increase the overall number.
Here is the breakdown:
October = 9 (-2 days when the Browns play) =7 November = 9(-2 days when the Browns play) =6 December = 9 (-2 days when the Browns play) =7 January = 5 February = 10 March = 8 April = 4
I would say it really looks like the Monsters could have alot more weekend home games than the already good start of 26 weekend home games we had last year.
Now bring on the schedule
Go Monsters!

Good work, but I certainly hope that they still have Tuesday Night Games, MY FAVORITE. Sorry, it is nice to go out when there is only 2000 fans and not the free giveaway nights. I know that we need the 10,000 fan nights, but I thoroughly enjoy the 2000 fan nights..

Thanks, I think you might like Thursday Night games better. Tuesdays always seem to be really bad crowds but Thursday Night crowds aren't too large but are usually over 5,000 which is cool in my book for a week night game.

and yet if we were to get an nhl team in cleveland (wishful thinking) 2,000 crowds and 5,000 crowds are not going to cut it, now for minor league yes those crowds are about the norm but still should be better.

I agree. As far as the AHL goes its a weekend league for sure. Although we will likely have the majority of games on the weekends the league will always give us weeknight games also, we have no choice there. What will be interesting to watch is as the fan base continues to grow, will those crowds at weeknight games grow also? I think they will

I just like the break from all of the NON Fans showing up for something free. Hey KI, How was island fest this year?

i agree with you about the non fans, as soon as you say free they comma runnin' for that free stuff. i lost out on some of the free stuff because of that fact and got to the games early too but... well i would like to see the fan base grow so that weeknight games are almost as crowded as the weekend games, we need to support this team as well as the other sports teams in this city.

A rockin good time, all the bars were packed. Lots of Lake Erie "Monsters" around also, plenty with white shirts on at The Casino Bar during the "contest" on Saturday afternoon

One of those months is when the All Star game happens and the players are basically off for a few weeks. Or at least, not playing any games. It was late January last year.

Of course, but you have to admit 47 weekend dates still out there all which don't interfere with any other Cleveland teams games. Subtract the All Star Weekend as that brings it to 44 weekend dates still avail.
