i was hoping to win that night in the suite, that woulda been awesome. they are doing everything right to make this team a success, at least so far off the ice. now sacco has to make due on his promise (last night @ the q & a sacco said he was holding himself to a higher standard and that was the calder cup championship) to get this team to the big game.

Eveything went great last night except for that group of hillbillies in the back near the bar who simply would not shut up while the coach and others were talking on the mike. I mean its pretty bad when you see kids behaving and grown adults acting like idiots.

They all seemed genuinely excited. Like they really knew that what they have going on this year is going to be great. I felt energy there that they have big things planned.
We just have to hope Sacco's "System" is one that will perform the way he expects. We have good teams in our division and they have systems as well.
Promotions are a great thing, and I love 'em, but you aren't going to fill seats with season ticket holders unless you have a team that wins games. I know everybody knows that, but I'm just being a realist. Beyond all the smoke and mirrors, this team has to perform.
Sacco does have the right attitude though. There is NO reason why the team can't get into the Calder championship (Except maybe a string of injuries like we had last year). We have the talent, lets hope he brings the coaching.
I'm really looking forward to this season. I want to wear my Monsters jersey with pride.

Where were they? I sat at the bar and could hear everything, although, I did have a speaker pointed at us... Didn't notice anything out of the ordinary

I think everything went great. The wife and I both liked what we heard. I'm pumped about our ticket books. Great promotions too. Like everybody has said so far though, they have the "Off Ice" part down, now can they follow up all that big talk about the "On Ice" product? I don't think we need the Cup this year, just the playoffs.
Although, I thought it was always supposed to be your goal to win The Cup...isn't that why you play the game? Saying that's your goal THIS YEAR is kinda like saying "We didn't really try last year" Right?
Oh well, it got me even more excited for the season to begin...

yes that is the goal every year, but last season with the team we had we were'nt going to make the playoffs, not to say we we're horrible, they had their moments but it was just a tall order. i remain optimisitic about this season and want to see the team make the playoffs, and possibly the calder cup but the playoffs will be a nice start.

AH Yes, I know exactly the group you are speaking of now, I was on the west side of the bar but thought that I would be annoyed and probably get a game misconduct if they were behind me...

I also was by the bar. I was pretty focused on what was going on that I hardly noticed them.
What about those bobble heads? I thought they were quite hilarious. The new jerseys look nice and the tickets are cool, too bad they wont be ready for a while. What about the Hanson brothers? My wife is hoping to see them again because (believe it or not) she hadn't seen the movie before they were here last year. Now she gets it.

Nice, now you know who those trailer trash guys were. They were also the same guys complaining about their cowbells too.

Oh the cow bell guys, yeah, they were behind my wife and I. We were right in front of the wall. I wanted to tell them to let it go a few times. I see both sides of the argument, but how many ways do you need to phrase the question "What about cow bells?" and have him tell you NO.

they were kinda annoying, but they are still sth holders so... and for this team to survive you have to be able to listen to the sth's no matter who they are (trailer trash included). now they may have pushed to hard on the cowbell thing and yes it was very annoying, that q & a session was more like a ***** session with those guys trying to push the whole cowbell issue. plus this is minor leauge there was no reason to ask whose going to make the squad when training camp hasn't even opened yet. the team we will get to see on the ice wont be put together until after av's training camp.

They should just have one game where people can bring bells and horns in and make a big racket. Get it out of their system. Make it a Wednesday in January.

I agree and think that Randy Domain answered all questions in a professional manner.

Agreed. Rules are rules, it doesn't affect me one bit.
I think the Q&A was good. Everybody did a good job answering questions and telling us what we wanted to hear. The roster thing....who cares. You're going to cheer for whoever is here when they get here, whether its Joe Schmoe or Joe Sakic.

I hear you. I just meant one game. Not once a week. Just once a season. In January, when the snow is likely to be falling and keeping people at home anyway. Kind of half joking.
But I thought last year was fine. We can do without the bells and horns if you ask me. I can do without Sully banging that drum next to my ear too. Haha...

I know... I also know that 75% of the STH in the club level DON'T WANT to hear those horns and bells... I can't wait!!! Just paid off my season tickets in Club and the upgrades... Ready for 40 home games with FREE (well $41 a seat) BEER...
