Thank God Jillson is gone, tired of watching opposing players skate right by him untouched.

it makes sense for jillson to play in europe again, he wasnt going anywhere playing in north america, he certainly wasnt going to play for the av's so...
now lundmark leaving for calgary oh well, at least we will be able to see him whence we play quad city.
its going to be a whole new team out there for the home opener and hopefully they can win this one and start the year off right.

Lundmark was a tough player all year. I think he had more grit than anyone else on the team - not a scr-app-er, but a tough competitor. He'll be missed.

Can't wait to see which vets we get signed.....soon, I hope.

On an odd note, Calgary is confusing me: they have a taskmaster coach and they keep signing/acquiring guys with questionable work ethics like Lundmark, Bertuzzi, Bourque. Oh well, I will only miss Jamie every third or fourth game.

New vets this year so far are:

F Nathan Smith
D Aaron McKenzie
F Marty Sertich (actually a trade to get him) and
F Brian Willsie

Already a more capable group than what was previously here and I expect more to come our way prior to the start of traing camp.

I would like to see one more capable experienced defenseman signed as a leader for this crew...

On the goalie end of things, if Weiman and Bacashuihua are it, we should be a pretty good bunch this year. I don't know if they will sign Wall or not since they already have Parma native Ian Keserich in the fold as well to hold down the fort in Johnstown...

when lundmark decided to play, he gave 110%. even on off nights, he looked like he was putting forth 90%, which was better than most on the squad.

we all knew this was going to happen, most of the free agents we had last year were only under a one year contract and since they threw players together to just even make a team, i kinda was expecting to see alot of guys leave. now the trades are a little unexpected but to the guys who got traded they might have a better chance of making the squad for the big team there on now than with the avalanche.

No, he wasn't. Also he isn't listed in the Avs' system anymore.

I wonder if that means he's in Europe. What a shame.

Yep. Letting anyone leave doesn't sound like building a team in my ears. I hope for more consistency in the future.

By the way Tom Fritsche wasn't at the camp, too, but fortunately he's still in the Avs' system. Does anyone know whether he's injured or something?

the camp was mainly for prospects and draft picks i dont think mitch fell into that category. colorado didnt give him an offer so he's in hockey limbo hoping to find another team. not really glad to see him go but honestly he really wasnt the best to begin with now fritsche dont know why he wasnt at the camp but the only one who knows the answer to that is fritsche himself.
