So that was pretty obnoxious at the game. The YES ON 3 graphic was on the ice, above the scoreboard and Gilbert's joe camel looking self was on the jumbotron urging people to vote to give him a casino.

It's painted on the ice, it's a graphic behind one of the goals, it's constantly on the video screens, Gilbert talks about it in a video, ads are on the boards, they show one of the yard signs, they make references to it
while i won't vote for it for personal reasons, i can't fault the guy for advertising the shiite out of it...
it's his arena, he's got a captive audience to try and drum up support for an issue he is chairman of in getting on the ballot and it's his money on the line if it passes. even if it does, he's taking a risk on it not being successful.
people may ask why he wouldn't do this in detroit. well, i think cleveland is a clean slate for him to build upon. this town could be his for the taking if successful. don't you think lebron would be along for the ride as an investor if this gets off the ground?

Agreed. To my wife's point....its FREE advertising. Its his building (so to speak), its his team, and its his advertising time that he would normally sell to someone else. why not utilize it. And its only for a few weeks, if this was going to go on all season, I could complain too, but really we have to listen to it for what 6 home games, thats not that bad.
Everybody has their opinion, I understand that. Vote for it if you want, don't vote for it if you disagree with it. But I think we all have to admit, that this time stands the best chance of any. There are a lot of people that will jump on the band wagon because of Gilbert, if it stands to bring business to downtown, let's do it. I'm still not sure how I'm voting. I'm not much of a gambler, but I think it might be good for the area.
