Saturday's Quick Facts: Lake Erie and Syracuse will meet for the seventh time this season. The Monsters are 3-2-1-0 against the Crunch, with all three wins happening in Syracuse. Tyler Weiman was the winning goalie in two of those victories, while Mike Wall picked up the third and most recent, a shutout on February 18th. Captain Wyatt Smith has recorded five points (3G, 2A) in the Crunch series, and Chris Stewart (2G, 1A) and Jamie Lundmark (3A) have three points apiece.
The Monsters recorded the first win in franchise history with a 3-2 victory in Syracuse on October 20th.
Lake Erie is in the midst of playing five games in six nights this week, all against North Division foes. While tonight is the fourth in the string, it is also the middle game of three straight over the weekend.
I'm not surprised the Monsters lost and gave up six goals, but I am pretty stunned that Richardson recorded a hat trick and wasn't even named a star of the game. Umm...homers?
here's what kills me: "Syracuse outshot Lake Erie, 44-25, on the night."
Sacco and try standing on his head and coaching to see if that works, but until we get a defense that can stop shots and an offense to even the attempts, we're going to lose.
